How the Wellride Driver app handles location and account information.

This Privacy Policy explains how Wellride Medical Transportation (“Wellride,” “we,” “us”) collects and uses information in the Wellride Driver mobile app. The app is a private tool for Wellride’s own drivers and is not intended for the general public. By signing in and using the app, a driver agrees to the practices described here.
When a driver turns on “On Shift,” the app collects the device’s precise location in the background — that is, even when the app is minimized, the screen is locked, or the app is not open — and sends it to Wellride dispatch. This lets dispatch coordinate pickups, arrival times, and safety during active medical-transport shifts and trips. Location collection stops as soon as the driver turns “On Shift” off or signs out.
Location is collected only while the driver is on shift in the app. It is not collected when the driver is off shift or signed out. Drivers can stop location sharing at any time by turning off “On Shift,” signing out, or revoking the location permission in the device’s system settings (which will limit the app’s dispatch features).
Location updates and shift data handled by the Driver app do not include patient names or medical details. Protected health information is kept separate from the driver-location system.
Location and shift records are retained only as long as needed for dispatch operations, service records, and legal or insurance requirements, after which they are deleted or de-identified.
Access to driver and location data is restricted to authorized Wellride staff and is protected by authentication and industry-standard safeguards. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
